New Subject

This new site, when completed, is suposed to be used alot, by various people with various setups, and if anyone is able to test these specific scenarios (or simular) it will be greatly appreciated.
The only trouble so far is with the footer/copyright, which are misplaced or not displayed at all. This is not a huge problem, but still, as the perfectionist i am i would hate for anyone to think: "Man! This site sucks..."

3. It Has to say something about the content of the site, as the above.
4. It has to be availible

There has been alot of good suggestions, but im more interested in... well... Like a generel geek domain, eg. fx. kernelgeek doesnt work.

Most of the suggestions above are a bit too much in-your-face for my tastes.

I really loved it when, back then, it turned out that rootdirectory.* was not yet taken. I took rootdirectory.de, because I had this feeling I wouldn't be able to fill it with anything worthwile anytime soon (and boy, was I right). In the meantime, the rest has been taken by cybersquatters.

Try to come up with something that doesn't say "geek", but implies geek. www.system-call.net is free, for example.

No i havent bought my new domain yet, but i couldnt sleep so i started making a layout for my new site.
However i 10:8 screen format and would therefor be gratefull if someone would take a look at it in 4:3 and maybe even 16:9 format to see if anything is screwed up. Various screenresolutions would allso be nice, but it shouldnt make any big difference enless you get below 800*600.

edit:
Im using javascript you fix the know png problem and it works, howevr in my browser it acts kinda weird.
When you have first loaded the site, the logo will seem very small and you will have to load another site and go back again in order to get the expected result.
Please report if that is happening to you allso, cause then ill have to find another solution.

What makes people believe other people are running their browsers full-screen all the time?

Looks good here (IE 6), but you seem to have a bug in your vertical layout: When I make the window bigger, I get "dead space" at the bottom of the page (first screenshot), when I shrink the window the bottom vanishes and the scrollbar hangs in limbo (second screenshot).

yes i am aware of that problem. its a question of relative and absolute width and hight definitions. I can use absolute (pixel fx.) because peoble are running in different screen resolutions, and relative (%) allso has drawbacks.
Ill figure something out, my gratest worry was about the menu and the logo.
