How and Where to start

Hi
I am totally new in OS Development Field, i know little C, Vb, Php, and i want to write an OS now,, Maybe a smaller for example which could only print my name for now, so i want to ask how can where i can start, which tools and tutorials, as i dont know anyhting abt it,, each and every reply is very important for me

first you probably want to learn some x86 assembly (i assume this is the platform ) and check out http://www.osdever.net/ and the wiki here. there are also a few tutorials you can follow: http://www.mt2002.sitesled.com/OSDevIndex.html/ (this site is temp. down right now so youll have to wait awhile)

we should have a notice at the home page of osdev that says: "If you are new to os development please check the wiki first before asking on the forum"

in fact, i dont know why we haven't done this already.

Hey wait guys, I am Not that much Newbie, That first know what is Compiler, Linker, assembler,

I know all of them, i just need ur help in writing boot sectors and making my Os working, or Os Development Tutorials
