I had actually looked at the post a day ago before any replies existed and noticed nothing really bad about it except that it was posted in the wrong sub forum. It is not that the contents were not funny, interesting, or humorous. I honestly did not mind at all and I am a really big geek. I fit the stereotype very well. Although, when growing up I never thought I would.

• Spends all free time with computers and electronics.
• No social friends.
• Unable to interact socially on a normal level, based on the benchmark set by the stereotype(other peers) for my age level; i can professionally interact and communicate very well though.

Ironically, you should be aware that others have posted in the wrong sub forum. When I said something about it the majority of posts seemed to contradict my view. Yet, apparently something as silly as this is just as if someone has made the biggest mistake for the past month.

I believe what you are seeing is a social behavioral pattern of some type but, I am not a psychologist so I know no terminology to describe it. It does appear to be where one person is following the lead of another, mimicking, or joining in for not because it is actually a incorrect post with the wrong timing or wording, not funny, or something else but for some other reason. There are most likely hidden motives instead of being what is visible in the replies to your original post. (Not all of the posts were extremely critical of your mistake, but a few were.)

Just the wrong sub-forum, thats all. I found the image very interesting, but maybe that is because I am socially defunct anyway. =)
