I'm not sure if anyone here has actually used QNX, But they are releasing source code for the "Neutrino" microkernel.. and other system components as well..
The last version of QNX I tried was distributed on a floppy disk
I thought it looked neat though..

Wow, this is great news! I can finally confirm a lot of my speculation about how their low-level context switching & pre-emption works.
Top three reasons why my OS project died:
- Too much overtime at work
- Got married
- My brain got stuck in an infinite loop while trying to design the memory manager
