It's been a looooooooong time since I could read Kanji.

Clicked on everything I could see, but didn't find a download for the OS. Could you provide a direct link to it?

Very nice looking website. The buttons did not work for me (blue circles with icons), so I could only see the main page.

I used babel.altavista.com to translate it and it came out well.

Where can we download a demo floppy disk or the source?

welcome aboard, jicama ... i must admit that beyond 'kyoto', 'tokyo' and 'buddhish temple", "open door" and "close door" my kanji skillz are quiet limited too ... do you have a sub-page (maybe in english ?) about OSdev'ing ? ...

Blue buttons doesn't react here either (except resizing: mozilla 1.5, flash enabled, popup blocked). If you'd like us to test and feedback about your OS, maybe you can try the other board, too 'OS testing" ...

Hello there, after a long pause I write to you again,

my friend shown me "your" os screenshot - so lets compare this http://jicama.cosoft.org.cn/jicama/0825.jpg and my Storm OS screenshot - http://www.stormos.net/images/shots/stormos_014c.png

Any similarities? >:(

A long time I did not put my source code, because I thought, that there will be persons, who will rip my source. But I made Storm OS open source. So now I see this screenshot jicama.

The purpose to give the source to the world was that, that people could learn from it, but NOT rip it.

I can't find any words to describe my disapointment :(

Bye

Another info:

look at the source http://jicama.512j.com/down/storm.rar and http://www.stormos.net/os_files/Storm_O ... source.rar

especially FAT.inc file and line, where is "VolumeLabel"...

Hi Thunder,

I had a look at your website and some of the source. Apart from the "I ask you not to rip it" wording in certain places, the rest of it (including some of the source files) keep saying that it's licensed under the GPL.

It is a bit confusing. :)

If you removed all the GPL references and then wrote up your own license - one that allows people to read it and learn from it but not use it - it would clear the "use" issues up. Especially for people who obviously don't speak English as their first language.

They probably just see "GPL" and assume that it really is licensed under the GPL... so they don't worry.

Nice screenshot, by the way. Both of them ;)

@thunder: it looks like what you found is a *copy* of Storm OS, no ? okay, mirroring your files may not have been Ok, but in the sources jicama proposed, i fail to see any common things... (i mean comparing Storm_OS_014d_source.rar and jicama003.rar ...)

Hmmm ... I didn't want to write here before, but now ...

Thunder, there is no need to jump down ones throat that way in the public. You should have talked to jicama in private a priori.

With your inproper action you have bereft him from the possibility to do according corrections in silence if necessary and without losing face.

AAAAND ... despite some similarities: the lad has taken the work up and done his own font. Furthermore the alignment in his textbox isn't correct yet, so he might have taken a look at your source to learn and has tried to do something like this his own way and the result you see.

By the way, I wouldn't care if one copied code from my os, as long as due credit is given. I have copied some unix timestamp conversion functions from visopsys, and that's documented and credited properly. IF someone copies and doesn't give credit, what can I do anyway? I have my source downloadable in the public internet. So - *shrugs*.
... the osdever formerly known as beyond infinity ...
