Filsystem

Ive written a simple "emulated" file system, works great. But now I wanna try it in my own OS. The first task would be to read/write to a floppy. But how do I do this in PM? I?ve tried to read lots and lots of information but I dont understand it. Is it diffiicult to read/write to a floppy? And how do I do it?
