I just want to download the entire faq but am having no luck. Is there a commpressed version for offline viewing?

Thank you tim that -U= worked wonders =) will need a bit of work after the mirror but its WORKING not sure why it works but... it does.

PhpWiki offers an option for dumping the whole Wiki into static HTML pages. However, since those pages are dumped to the server filesystem, it is available for the admin user only.

Not only because of that do I hope that df returns safely from his hike.

However, I wouldn't flame the Wiki. If you had a look at the old (static HTML) FAQ, you'll realize how much better the FAQ has gotten within a few weeks, just by allowing the bunch of us to edit it...

i think i would discourage people to websuck the FAQ this way (i'm doing it atm): you'll get plenty of 'actions=likePage', 'action=diff', 'action=debuginfo', etc.

i'll try to put an archive of it online once i'll be done.

hmm ... too bad: most of the pages appears as XML documents rather than webpages. I fear most browsers will not like the sucked version... and you"ll be sucking the forum aswell.

The only "action" you'll be interested in is action=browse, by the way - and that's the default. I don't know about wget -U=, but you want index.php/HomePage, and neither HomePage?action=edit nor HomePage?action=diff or anything.

That being said, all we really need is df calling http://www.osdev.org/osfaq2/index.php/P ... on=ziphtml and linking the resulting ZIP file for download...

true ... i wanted to try it for myself and warn people at what i saw ... The wget has been running for about 2 hours and i end up with about 50MB of datas, among which very few are interresting. So don't wget' it.

Anyway, why do you need that ip banned? Please supply a link to any posts or such for me to look as well as member profile if it's a member.
