Hi. I'm trying to do some OS development with VMWare. The only problem is my laptop doesn't have a floppy drive so I'm forced to use a USB floppy drive. The USB drive works fine under my linux operating system using scsi emulation for it. The device for the drive is /dev/sda but when I try using this device for the floppy drive under VMWare it complains thats it's not a valid device. Any ideas on this problem would be a great help. Thanks. signum.

linux supports disk images.. vmware supports disk images..

ergo.. use a disk image! faster, more reliable...

Tell it to use an image for some drive, then boot using that drive?
