well, yes, Intel Manuals can be ordered for free ... though you'll have to provide (or cheat ?) with your "company name" and your "job title" ... i'm also unsure about whether they ship printed manuals outside of US or not ... i got the CDROM with manuals for free shipped at home (Belgium, Europe), but a manual seems much more expensive to me ...

I don't know, but I ordered them a few weeks ago and I got a fedex mail saying it's on its way. (at least, system programming :)) Also, AMD claims not to ship the books outside the usa, but if you enter the wrong information (you cannot enter the correct country, but if you use the free form fields for those bits of information) the people at DHL understand what the intent is and will ship it correctly. With a 3 month delay, but still, it's better than printing yourself..

Well, not really. The Company Name was "Pro-POS GbR", since any not officially listed enterprise defaults to GbR in Germany. And my job title... well, I *am* Software Engineer, so there. ;-)

They positively do. Both Lennart (Sweden) and I (Germany) got our copy within weeks.
Every good solution is obvious once you've found it.

Heck, I even got two sets, one to the company I occasionally work for and one delivered directly to my apartment. I remember doing something similar to get PowerPC manuals from Motorola a few years back. Not sure if they still provide them in print, but I think you can get them as .pdf.

Again, they positively do, as my copies from less than half a year back prove. ;-)
