This is a post for therx and others to read, containing ideas for therx to add to his OSID database. feel free to post, it's ultimately up to therx to add them though.
I say when other is selected (like in Boot Method and Kernel Format), you should be able to type in what "other" is.
-should be able to enter data in a notes field, containing specific features, other things about the OS in general, etc.

Agreed -- I don't use ELF or COFF for my images (I use PE) so I have to enter "Other". If you look at the Mobius OSID it's fairly dull -- nearly everything has 'Yes' next to it (except DMA driver, which I don't consider necessary).

i think the "OSID" system will become really useful only if there is a way to provide "raw" informations - for human readers rather than for comparison purpose. Why not allowing ppl to post a HTML file that will be append to the output ?

I'll try to add something along those lines when Portland's upload server (FTP) is up again >:(
Off Topic : Anyone know of a free server with high bandwidth. On Portland I've already used nearly 70MB this month alone and the limit's 100MB :'(

I could let you host some stuff off of my laptop...I've got about 4gb open (for free), but its only on a cable line (hey, it's faster than ADSL)
. Still, if you get *desperate* for room, gimme a mail...
p.s. even though it's mobile, it's always connected

Ok, sorry but the site my have to go down soon due to the high demand. I am about to get a new computer so I will be able to use this computer as a web server for my site over ADSL. As I will be able to use MySQL I am now redesigning the whole site. The new site will be up at the address of therx.uni.cc by (at the latest) 1st July 2003. The OSID will allow users to add fields that they feel are required and I will also provide space for all entries to have the source code uploaded hopefully this will mean that smaller OSes without a website will be able to be found.
Back to work for now!
Therx
PS It's down now due to an error at Portland it will be up as long as the bandwidth lasts. (75mb/100mb yesterday) Then I may even be able to only put it on th web for the first half of each month.
