I would prefer to develop my OS on the powerpc platform(apple hardware). Does anyone know where I can get info on boot process and assembly language? I tried google, not too useful.

i don't know a thing about the boot process, but i know you can get programming guides at motorola.com and ibm.com. it's a bit of a search, but they're there. you'll need copies of the 32-bit Programming Environment Guide and a couple others. the 6xx and 7xx series are the ones used in Macs (705, 750, and a few others) and the Gamecube (750CXe, IIRC).

like i said, thuogh, i don't know anything about the boot process, and know even less about the hardware.
