Hehe, yeah, change the name. You don't want people to think it's like MS Bob. ;)

lol. and btw, im pretty sure everyone on this baord IS making their own OS. your most likley not gonna create anything anyone will use. the whole idea is to write one and learn more about them and PCs, and its pretty much a hobby. unless anyone out there is actually creating an OS they think ppl will use? correct me if im wrong

you are wrong, i plan on my os being used (after a few years of hard work)

trust me, you'll see my work on the shelf next to Windows one day, anything is possible. ;)

Of course, when i do put Microsoft out of business, i will remember all the help i got from my forum buddies ;D

& you never know, let this be a message to everyone on this forum, NEVER FORGET, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE & also, most billionares - start off with almost no money ;D

If you work hard, you'll get there!

Good luck to everybody.

P.S. Evil OS is a horrible name, maybe you should actually make the OS then think of a name (or make most of it) It'll give you time to think of a name. Good luck on your OS!!

Welcome to the new world, where int means interrupt.

& there's brain teasin stuff like mov, ax mov, this mov, that bla bla blah!!! etc.... the crap goes on. But you'll get there, when i started off (a month ago) i didnt know squat, but look at me now, i am talkin like a pro (kinda) just ask the pro's on this forum & they'll find a way!!

trust me.

Good luck again, and may the source be with you, always..

Cya, Ciao, Adios, Goodye, Adios Amigos ...etc...

ciao 8)

(You'll get there, just work hard)

I don't plan on my OS even taking over BeOS. FritzOS is for education.

If anyone likes it....that's ok....but i'm not conserned about what happens to my OS now.

You should be worried about makeing it [the OS]first.

I think you are confusing GNU Hurd, which is Richard Stallman's UNIX clone (and the primary purpose for the GNU Project) which is finally seeing the light of day some twenty years after he began work on it. He'll have to give his Golden Vaporware Club membership key back to to Ted Nelson and Alan Kay, I guess.

The two Lucent Inc. (formerly Bell Labs) operating systems which Ritchie is working on are Plan 9 and Inferno. The former isn't exactly new; Release 1 was issued in 1993, contemporary with the Linux 0.99.x kernel. The big change is that, whereas it had been proprietary, as of Release 3 it is now open source. Release 4 was issued this past summer, I think. See the Plan 9 FAQ for more details.

Inferno is more recent, but it primarily targets the embedded market, and is not open source, though you get a copy of the source code as part of the a $100/yr subscription fee (and no per-unit royalties, unlike, say, WinCE).

I to am developing my OS in the hope of creating something that might get used. At the moment i am just doing it to see what it ends up like but i am including all feature i want to see in an OS and i think other people would like, in the hope that when i finish it, if its any good other people will want to use it.
