If I understand about Iexbeta, the next version of Internet Explorer will work only on Win Xp.
It's Microsoft's strategy to make people to buy Win Xp.

it sounds more like the XP version will have more features than the the other versions, not that it will be completely incompatible. of course, the latest version of the Microsoft Platform SDK technically works with older versions of Windows but it comes with programs essential to using the SDK with Visual Studio that won't run on Windows98. I doubt it will be long before XP is required.
I hope that rumor of IE7 being the last IE is false, 'cause MSN explorer sucks and so does Netscape.

Have you tried mozilla? not the netscape/aol version but the actual mozilla binaries? I find it quite usable.

Iexbeta is not all about IE7, Robin, it's about all windows beta's ( like the new longhorn, blackcome ).
I hope longhorn beta comes out soon, because my ( friend's ) XP trial ran out and now i'm back to glitchy WinME, don't belive XP is bad, oh no...my computer almost never crashed with XP.
I use mozilla in linux, it's a good browser too. (i'd use IE in wine, but it's illegal
)

I've never had any cause to update from Win98. XP's features just don't hold anything for me, ie, I never found anything it offered that I didn't already have. Plus 98 is smaller. If I upgraded, I'd have to replace half of my software or patch it. That's not an option for me.

Yes, Microsoft often prints propaganda messages:
Microsoft wants you!
Downloading Linux is downloading communism.
The quality of life for an XP user has increased by 5%.
Microsoft was not after all at war with Apple. Microsoft is at war with Linux. Apple is an ally.

WIN XP runs DOS apps like crap most of the time though :'(. I use too many old programs to upgrade. Geee...I can't wait for that 64 bit OS so I can be left completely behind. Woo! I do like betas and trying stuff out though...so the link is really cool. Lots of other links off of that site that looked nice too! Thanks!
