If a download of 2Mb takes about 5 to 10min., it's quite slow. It could be Opera though, or that it's via USB (our network doesn't work) but still, it shouldn't be so slow.

Kon-Tiki : USB is extremely slow by todays standards so it is probably your problem.

I go with Verizon DSL. They loan you the modem for free along with a bunch of other stuff like line scrubbers. Also, they gave me a $25/month for first three months deal, which is what I was paying for unlimited 56k before. Plus, with DSL and MSN Messenger or any other IM service with voice, you can make "long-distance calls" to other people using the same IM with very little latency, so you can cut out long-distance service to accomodate the cost of the DSL. Or move to Korea, where DSL is as cheap as dial-up is here.

My friend from Korea makes me jealous.

Te Rangi : You have DSL? Woah!
Daniel : Yes I do have the ADSL, but it is very slow compared to Korean one.

This dude has the fastest connection I have ever seen, and he says it is slow :-\
