BIOS source

Post by Automatic_Jack »

Does anybody know where there is a BIOS source code? I found a sample ASM code on Intels site, and supposedly there is a IBM PC XT Technical Reference that has the source for the BIOS they released on it. Of course thats from 1981...

I have found a few open source things but they dont look very helpful.

Thanks

Why you didnt read the bios of some boards and disasm it? Ok, its heavy to understand, but i dont know any other way. :?

Yeah I was trying to not have to do that. The questionable legalities I really care less about, I am just lazy and that would be quite an effort.

Appears that I will have to do it though...

Oh as a note to anyone who cares http://www.programmersheaven.com/ has the source on it for the old PC XT BIOS it appears. Has 2 versions of it really, dont know how different they are as I havent read them fully...

Just search bios on their main page and they come up in tthe little top 5 thing...
