Hello there

I intend to develop a small operating system for learning then improve it :)
I bought book Understanding Linux Kernel... after browsing it I found it Great!!
After finishing the book. I need to learn a book teach programming my own OS
I found it book Modern Operating System 2nd edition, but it looks like its not for developing.. looks like for OS design.. I want to buy it with extra book for developing Operating System in C or C++
One more thing.. I don't know anything in assembly.. do I have to learn it for ? and its different from processor to another (I have Pentium M in my laptop and Athlon XP in my desktop), If I have to learn would you recommend a book ?

Regards
