GRUB2 Flags is 0x1 (Was: GRUB2 Queries)

Apparently, I can't even get crap to work properly. Something is messed up with my MB2 tags, so I'm attempting to go back to MB1.
GRUB2 indeed loads and boots my kernel with the 'multiboot' command...
However, as the title says, the FLAGS field is 0x01, As opposed to what Grub Legacy would give. (0x7E7 on most occasions)
The MB header is the same (duh), and my requested flags is 0x07.
Debug help...? I might add that I'm using ubuntu's 1.99 GRUB2, so I will try the grub2.00 build from the ftp soon.
EDIT: I can't even get GRUB2 to install now...
-> I used to be able to (with 1.99ubuntu) install to a HFS+ USB drive without problems.
-> With the newly compiled (and I 'make install'd) GRUB2.00, It complains of embedding not supported for this filesystem. Funny bloody thing is, I've tried every filesystem Ubuntu's 'Disk Utility' supports, Including FAT, EXT2, 3, 4... All of them are 'not supported'.
What do you think guys...? I'm going to try build another version of GRUB2 in the morning, probably one before 2.00.
PS: I don't like how editing doesn't bump a post... (just saying).
Thanks!
