award modular bios problem

ive tested my bootsector and kernel on 4 different computers, and it works fine on the brand new and the really old ones,
but the one with an award modular bios and p2 450 mhz cpu doesnt seem to work
when i try to modify the pic settings the screen goes gray and the cpu freezes up
??
does award modular bios set things up differently from everyone else?
