grub2

Ok, so I'm not having good luck with the tutorial I'm following. I went ahead and installed grub2 on a usb drive which is going to be best I think while I work on my kernel. But I can't figure out how to write my grub.cfg Does anyone have any tutorials they would recommend? Thanks!
