Hard disks first......

Hi everyone!
I'm doubting about one thing, so I'd need your opinion:
Im completely failed to read my kernel from CD-ROM, so I thought 'What about hard drive?', and an idea come to me - to create all my OS on Hard disk and only then create an installer for CD which will load everything I've developed on hard disk. What do you think about it, is it a good idea or not?

I wouldn't do it on my main system that was dual booted, but if you have an extra computer sitting around, sure, why not. The worst thing that happens is that you reformat and start over. Takes a little while longer to reformat a hd then a floppy....

If it's a small hard drive (e.g. 40gb), it actually can take less time than a floppy, because of how slow writing/reading from a floppy is compared to a hdd.

Moving this to the correct subforum, because it's not about OS design and theory.
