Help with kernal!

Help with kernal!

im a huge beginner with the kernal and i just dont know what to do with making it. i dont even know what to script on the first sentence of making a kernal. i know what it does, and i have already tried the os wiki but i search "kernal" and nothing comes up. So where do i start and what do i need in order to make one. i have visual studio 2010 professional with visual c# and c++.
