v86 mode

hi i was wondering wether you could write a v86 monitor in djgpp for dos.
i was wondering because my os is dos compatable and i have a gui writen in C djgpp.
i have no idea about setting up a v86 so wanted to write one for dos (no gui) then add a gui frount end.
could someone help me pls.
