I think it would be a lot easier if i had all the programs i needed first. so what do i need and how do i install them and in what directories should i put them in? i have cygwin, but do not know how to install
i have A86, but do not know how to install, i have microsoft virtual pc, and since microsoft made it, i know they installed it when i clicked setup. but i am getting frustrated cause i have not made my first .asm file yet because oh yeah and i have nasm dowloaded, but i do not know how to install, and as i was saying i am getting slightly frustrated because none of you told me what i needed! i as what linker i would need for windows xp, i asked what i should use as assembler, i asked what i should use for comiler, i asked what i should use for a whatever else i may need. so please [please] please help me get all the nescassary programs to make an os and give me instructions on how to install them

First of all, I would strongly recommend Linux for this sort of project.
Second, instructions should be on the web sites or with the programs themselves.
