Custom Titles

Post by Troy Martin »

I was thinking out loud in #0x01 on freenode that it would be cool to have custom titles for well-known members and mods. A few in the channel seemed to like it, so I decided to post the idea here. You should be either a mod, well-known, and/or have five stars to get one, and they can't be duplicates or offensive.

Any thoughts?

I was there, but I'd like forward my thoughts here as this is where it actually matters haha.

I think it's a great idea tbh. It could be comically descriptive so that it could both be fun and informational to new members. 5 stars is good to see, but having a title is distinguishing. At the current moment, there's only ~20 5-star members, and probably another 10-20 others that could/should be included. Maybe a voting system for election of non-5-star members?

Either way, that's my vote and $0.02.

I think it's a good idea as well. I think the titles have to be added by the administrator anyway, so the whole moderator approval thing I was going to suggest is moot, since they have to do it anyway.

Well uhm... What exactly is a 'title' in this context, and what's a 'custom' one?

It's the "Member" label above your stars (which is customizable)

Ah right, that one. I visit some boards where that's linked to post count.
