Head settle time in the DPT

Post by essial »

Is it still necessary to modify the head settle time in the disk parameter table (and thus have to relocate the int 0x1E interrupt vector) for floppy boots nowindays?

You don't need to do so to boot off a floppy. When did you ever need to? I thought you could just stick a sector-long piece of real mode code in LBA sector 0 and turn on your box.
