Libsupcxx versus os specific toolchain

Libsupcxx versus os specific toolchain

I have been reading over the wiki page for libsupcxx.
I have already completed the "OS specific toolchain" wiki entry. This created a libsupc++.a in the /cross/(system-name)/lib directory. Is the libsupc++ created by the libsupcxx wiki page different from the libsupc++ created by the os specific toolchain?
I have an 80386SX 20MHz 2MB RAM.
It is my testbed platform. Only has the 3.5" and 5.25" floppy drives.
