i know i can convert masm coff to djgpp coff but is this sutibal for os dev

You can use any object format for osDev...! What do you mean by "suitable"? In my OS I have a mixture of elf and rdoff... I could've easily used coff and omf, or whatever else is out there... it's more or less irrelevant to the final product.
