I have started edits on the securit wiki page since I believe this would be my best contribution to the osdev community. They can be seen here:
http://www.osdev.org/wiki/Security#Prog ... c_Security

Please do not change anything I have wrote for a few hours after my posting since I am still ediiting, but after that please edit it to make it more coherent or to abide by some osdev.org guidelines I have missed.

I wrote these topics because it seems many osdev members think of security as protected mode/file permissions/microkernel while writing their operating systems in c/c++/asm and leaving the code full of exploitable issues ( especially integer bugs as explain in the article )

I have learned alot from osdev.org and will take responsibility for the security page if this is acceptable and continue to add information as it comes along.

Very nice additions. I agree, internal application security related to overflows and such, is too often neglected.

May I suggest reorganizing the new section somewhere into the section on high-level security? I think it fits quite well there.

Also, shouldn't this topic be in the Wiki-related forum?

I wasn't sure where to post it on the forums or the wiki so people can feel free to move it or add changes as long as no false information is posted.
