Bootable CD-ROM

Post by AlfaOmega08 »

Everyone can create a bootable floppy...
The first sector of 512 bytes must end with 55AA, right?
I've explored with Hex Workshop the first sectors of the Ubuntu CD. Each sector is of 2048 bytes. The first 16 sectors are empty. In the 17th sector there is the label and other information...

How can I create a bootable CD-ROM?

Thanks

You can use a bootable floppy image, along with your cd burn software to make a bootable CD, look in your burn software for something like "make bootable", click on it it, it will ask for a bootable image, point it to a floppy image or a bootable floppy in the a: drive, it with add 2 bin file to the cd, once you burn it, it's bootable.
