Why is 2kb not there? That's the size of my kernel stack and also for Linux'.

Silly question, honestly. For the bootloader? A "hello world" hobby kernel? A server OS? A recursive-descent XML parser?

A stack should be extendable, that's probably the most important thing about it. ;)
Every good solution is obvious once you've found it.
