This site sucks

This site is really slow, it takes forever to the message boards, and half the site is in one template and the other looks different

It has never been slow for me.
Pages load fairly quickly, some times more quickly than i would expext.

Mirror sites? Update the message board to a type that can have copies of the board on different servers, and then the servers check to see which messages are up to date, and add them to their databases? It's an idea in any case.

I suggest this board would use YaBBSE like my forum: http://fritzos.sourceforge.net/yabbse/index.php

That way moderators could lock such off topic stuff like this!

I don't think this is THAT off topic to be perfectly honest. We should be discussing how we can optimize this site to make it as good as possible for all people on the net who need help with OS design.
