bios password

can anyone help me , i have a pc on which someone has set a bios password and can not remember it . is it possible to bypass it. i am quiet prepaired to rebuild my machine from start

Sure, there are several ways to bypass it:
Reverse the motherboard battery for 5 seconds to erase the CMOS memory.
Use the backdoor password (I know that for some machines it's "AMI", but that's the only one I know).
Those are the only ways I can think of offhand.
(is there a list of BIOS backdoor passwords out there somewhere?)

rather than mess with the battery there is a simple jumper you set and turn on the machine, then turn off, restore it org. pos. and turn it on once more.
