Reference: How To Ask Questions The Smart Way
Don't ask people to reply by private e-mail
In Web forums, asking for a reply by e-mail is outright rude, unless you believe the information may be sensitive (and somebody will, for some unknown reason, let you but not the whole forum know it). If you want an e-mail copy when somebody replies in the thread, request that the Web forum send it; this feature is supported almost everywhere under options like “watch this threadâ€

@Kevin MCGuire: He is not asking for a "reply by private e-mail". He is just asking for the image by private e-mail. That is a difference imho. You could also post some link, but if you come months later, see this thread and the link is down, it's pretty much useless, too.
Wrong time for that quote imho.

I think it is just a really lazy attitude to trying to get something working, and I am very selective on what I think is a lazy attitude or a desire to enjoy something and learn. Does not bother me if someone would like to start playing with graphics. I might pick at it if they call it a kernel.

Look at this guy's post. He spells his words correctly and uses good grammar which shows he took time to write what he wanted to say to us, and I think what he had to say was important or I would not have tried to help.
Would it be possible for somebody to upload the source code for an operating system written in C and Asm that changes the color of one pixel to red (and turns off text mode) along with an explanation of how to properly compile it? [It would be best if the code was documented, but it unneccesary. Additionally, it may be noted that i would like this to be a skeletal example meaning that it only has enough functionality to do its job] [this is for x86]

Here he uses correct spelling and decent grammar once again. He explains what he knows, and where he is having a problem.
Ok, my kernel can determine the size of the ram memory. Let's see, imagine 512 mb, now how can I determine the free blocks? I know that's 512 mb but I don't know where are the free blocks and what is the max address that I can allocate.... The only think I now is that GDT, Kernel Stack and LDT are under 0x100000 and my kernel is at the 1 MB mark ( using 8 kbs )

His request not needing help solving a problem reminds me of this post, but with out the words that have a very strong meaning. You notice the sloppy writing and spelling style?
Hey guys ,
as I have to boot my * x86-64 arch based kernel without implementing my own bootloader ( that will cost too much time ) that I need an image , which have already been format with a simple file system format ( FAT 12/16/32 etc. ) , with x86-64 GRUB pre-installed.
Any help will be apreciated.
Thank you.
Regards.

Anyway. I think if someone helps him it could be benificial for them to report to us how they compiled GRUB with the VBE patch so that future reading when searching for the words vbe and grub will hopefully find this thread and have some information that might help them work through the compile errors instead of having to feel like they need to resort to asking for a binary image.

He also left out any information about what went wrong during compiling which says once again to me that he is just lazy about really caring that he could not compile it. Instead, he wants to ask someone to take time out of their day to send a private message with the binary as a attachment. Of course some one will do that and never post here saying at least, "Ok. I sent it. <replace with information about how it was obtained or produced (compiled)>"..

You know... I might like to know myself what is going wrong with compiling GRUB. We might have another thread pop up a month or so from now that has the same question and it should give the person needing help so much more satisfaction knowing they accomplished something by working through a problem and compiling it rather than just being handed something. It is similar to the give a man a fish and he lives for a day, but teach him to fish and he can feed himself for many days. Of course in our situation we could say that we are potentially teaching many people to fish in one lesson instead of having to repeat the lesson because someone was too lazy to:
  1. Tell us how it was compiled or acquired for the image to be sent privately.
  2. Tell us what problems were encountered during the compilation
So that we may help others later. I am sure there is at least someone else that visits these forums that has had the same problem and might even still like to solve it so that they can use GRUB to set the video mode.

And if you think I had alternative intentions when I posted the quoting from that resource then you could be correct, but it is only a result from strict conditioning of my own behavior over time that results in my having a pocket full of rebuttals awaiting the slightest doubt to the correctness of my action.
