File System Design and Implementation

I was wondering if anyone knew of a good resource where you could read about important elements in designing a file system like how to handle growth of files' size, fault tolerance and etc.
On the field with sword and shield amidst the din of dying of men's wails. War is waged and the battle will rage until only the righteous prevails.
