Yer OS mode

(the question is in the poll)
My OS uses real mode with big 4GB protected-mode-segment memory access (also 640K is for code for OS or ANY apps!
).

Current kernel is a 32-bit protected mode one, but I'm planning on updating to long mode (i.e. 64-bit) before it's finished, as I expect virtual address usage to be high enough that it will be necessary for any serious application.

A vote for pmode here. I would like to go to long mode in the future and as my kernel is in its' infancy, now would seem a good time - I just have some work to do on the existing code base first! (oh - and I don't (yet) have a 64-bit processor to try it with..

I voted pmode, but I am hoping for my os to eventually go into the top secret mode: Qmode. Which, I am sorry to say, was not on the list.

Such a shame that phpbb polls dont support multiple answers. And apart from that i dont see anything related to non-x86 platforms so i think this poll is relatively poor.
Voted protected mode as that target is best supported by my kernel right now. I have an abandoned realmode kernel, and longmode and wide mode are currently on some corner of the design table.

I'm heading for long mode only, although ATM there's not much to show yet. In the future I'm planning to go for PPC as well, and maybe do a backport to x86 real mode.

Should have another option: Protected mode and long mode.

That doesn't seem logical.. Long Mode 64bit.. Then "
backport" to 16bit real mode?
I think you might of meant - x86 32bit protected mode.. (Right?
)

I meant protected mode, you are right.
Sorry, my fault!
