adding sound devices

adding sound devices

Hi
I have written a basic device manager, and i'm wondering how to load the sound devices. Should i have a common framework for all sound devices i.e Sound devices should be accessed thru a common routine. Device manager should not directly call the sound devices. I am really confused about loading sound and video drivers. how will you do it. i guess oss and alike provides a common interface to sound devices.
everyone here are best programmers ( not yet not yet)
