Intel Docs Hardcopy Shipping

Post by Midas »

I noticed the other day (I've been checking daily) that the Intel docs were available on hard copy. Does anyone know if they ship to the UK?

I sent a request, but I haven't received a reply so I'm just waiting and hoping they'll arive, but I couldn't see anything to say they did or didn't.

It at least used to be typical, that you get the automatic email confirmation at most a day before you get a FedEx guy at your door. In fact, some people reported at some point that the FedEx guy came first, and Intel's email only later.

So if I was you, I'd just wait for a few days. :)

Both AMD and Intel have shipped to the Netherlands for me, so I think they'll do the UK as well... AMD needed some alternative destination filling in (so that it would end up with a person instead of just machines, and then be sent on) but Intel just ships there.

It took a while for me to get mine. I had forgotten about it actually so it was sort of a surprise. I actually think I enjoy the PDFs more simply because I dont have to worry about holding the book open. ;)

;D Heh, sounds like pretty standard fodder then. Thanks, I just wanted to check. :)

Sure PDFs have the handy ability of being able to be searched in a couple seconds (handy for looking up opcodes) but I'm not sitting reading the entire however-many-thousand-page manual off a laptop screen. :P

These aren't technically 'White Papers', by my understanding, however I'm guessing these are what you're looking for.

IA-32 Intel Architure Software Developer's Manuals

Page to request hard copy (if available) or CD (if available) copy of any Intel document

They give an email address to send manual orders to, but it is *very* hard to find. I eventually did a search and found it in the embedded systems section.

To be precise, it was shipped to Saskatchewan, USA, with my real address in the comments section. It took 3 months to ship, but it got there... with pen workings on the cover...
