Temporary 'Neon homepage'

Post by mystran »

I'd like to announce (and hear if somebody objects) that I am currently using my user page in osfaq-wiki (MystranTheGreen) as the semiofficial Neon homepage.

I don't intend to spread links pointer there, but since I don't have any better place to put information about the system, and osfaq readers and users of this forum are the main target audience, I thought it would be good idea to have something there.

Any files are kept elsewhere, ofcourse.

Hope that's ok with everyone including site administration.

If you're in need of hosting, let me know. I can get you some space without ads and you won't have to worry about using the Wiki. Otherwise the space is going to waste.

I can mirror any non-media (mp3s, mpegs and such aren't allowed) files under 1MB. As with the previous poster, give me a shout if you're interested.

This goes for any OS-development related work from anyone here.

EDIT: I suggest you add a license to your page, even if its just a copyright statement and "All rights reserved". If you're planning on releasing the code as open source, think about using sourceforge.net to host the project.

my first reply would have been "as long as you just have a brief explanation of your work, a couple of pointers and the usual "who i am" stuff, it's ok for me".

Now, considering you're one of the first to provide an example of how Eleanore Semaphore works, more details are welcome.

It's not that I don't have space, but I have to clear a few issues.

Basicly, I want something stable enough, that I don't have to worry about relocating it, and something flexible enough, that I can build nasty scripting behind the place if I want such in the future.

I'll possibly have such a place in next few months anyway.

About licensing:

I haven't decided about licensing details yet, and versions available for download aren't useful enough that licensing would be of interest for anyone. Ultimately there will probably be different conditions for kernel and rest of the system. Of these two, kernel license WILL be more restrictive.

I'm probably not going to release kernel as "open source" with an OSI approved license, but I think source is going to be available (for reading and bugfixing) anyway. Rest of the system will probably mostly go under BSD style license.
