Somebody claimed that once you touch osdev, you simply can't stop. And well, seems like that's true.
I'll probably not be very active here in the future, since I got like tons of other things, but you should know that I found a directory called 'muneon' on my harddrive.
As it is, when I tried to figure out my IPC implementation, I had to come here, and read what I'd posted about it. Great documentation, one could say... fortunately the forum search rules, and enough archived content there.
So, basicly, when I last stopped, seems I got my kernel working. Now I'm going to try and add the (already designed, it seems) userspace memory manager thingie, and export the IPC facility for all programs to benefit.
Oh, and make it load userspace programs, ofcourse.
Expect some more Neon releases in the future.
OS development bug
Re:OS development bug
I know the feeling. I used to hang out here all the time back in the summer of 2003 when I first started on my OS. I made some pretty good progress that year and then life became way too busy and unfortunately this was one of the hobbies that got left out. Fortuantely, it's always been in my mind, and a few days ago I started getting back into my code, looking at what I had written and where I was taking it.
After some initial difficulties, I now I have it back up and running again and am resuming development at least in a limited capacity.
