Project infrastructure

So, what happens if you've got your kernel ready and you want to build your whole desktop environment and everything (this is hypothetical, I'm nowhere near this point)... I tried registering with BerliOS becuase they offer SVN over SSH, but they wouldnt accept the project due to the size of a LiveCD download (I said in the description that it would eventually be a full OS distribution). Do I have to host everything myself?

How do those of you that are farther along in your projects manage it, SourceForge?

You would probably be welcome at BerliOS, SourceForge or any other free CVS hoster (there are many!) if you'd just state what you have instead of where you want to go... ;-)

Once you're ready for the big release, you'll probably have to get yourself a dedicated server - a full-fledged OS distribution eats much more bandwidth than anyone would care to host for free.
