i'm (once again) on quest for mass media support in Clicker, as you can see on my wiki. There has been a driver package pointed by SRG a long time ago (http://www.ata-atapi.com/atadrvr.htm) and, out of curiousity of how ATAPI could be working, i donwloaded it again _and printed_ it (it was about time, believe me).
Not only does it contain code for everything that is HDD/cdrom related, but that code is *public domain* and it supports SATA, UltraDMA and the like (well, from real mode i have to admit, but we shall overcome that, shalln't we).
It also almost directly pointed me towards the ultimate resource about UltraDMA, where registers and mechanics are actually described. In other words, my previous pity attempt at giving an insight of how UltraDMA works is likely to be obsoleted in a near future
Oh, btw, it looks like they already have something newer than UDMA: ADMA (A being for Asynchronous, afaik). that's in the T13 document aswell
