Hello,
As a chairman of the "Kernel and operating system development" topic at the Libre Software Meeting (July 2005, France), I'm looking for OS developers interested in coming to present their free software projects. These free software projects should be related to operating system development : kernel, subsystem implementation, filesystems, development tools, etc...
You can see the complete Call for contribution at
http://thomas.enix.org/pub/call-for-talks-lsm-2005.txt
The official Website of the Libre Software Meeting is
http://www.rencontresmondiales.org (but it is not translated to English yet).
Don't hesitate to contact me.

Munich - Dijon: 118 euros and 10 hours in the train
Finding the way to the university: 5 years of french at school
Convincing your parents that you can go there: Priceless
I could try the classic excuses like "kidnapped by aliens" or "virtual school excursion", but I'm not too optimistic that it'll work out because I'm supposed to be at school from the 5th to the 8th of July.
regards,
gaf

Enschede-Dijon (for me as a student, Maastricht-Dijon): something like 100 euros and around 20-30 hours in the train, counting both ways
Finding the way to uni: dito, 5 years of french
Living on my own so I don't have to get permission from my parents: quite expensive actually, but inevitable. It does have advantages
Hope to be able to go there, seems like a lot of fun. Also, having dinner beside the Seine on the way there (3 hour stop in Paris) seems cool.

There are five days to go to, and you can pick pretty much one of them. I think even if you're invited as a guest speaker.
By the way, if you're invited, are you reimbursed the money for the ticket & hotel/tent location or do you have to pay them yourselves?

usually not. The best you can expect is a lower entrance price (if entrance price) ...
