Thanks for the compliments ;D
Note that I put my OS on the other computer, and I can't access them, because I don't have a diskette drive in the computer where I'm now on, so :(
But anyway, I'm looking forward to your OS. ;)

Hmm, I might be a bad searcher ::) , but I couldn't find it :(
The most related website is: www.lindos.co.uk
So... maybe this would be the website ;)
(But I only can find Win4Lin and some audio stuff)
Please give the url ;)

Ah... ::) I see.....
The W causes the problem....
Now DOS is causing the problem ;) (Microsoft is a true idiot (sorry for swearing ;) ) )
But anyway, so Lindos = Lindows ?
I thought (based on the name of Lindows) it was a "new" OS ;) .
I saw Lindows once, it was quite good actually...
(It's a shame, it costs money)

About the source (just curious ;) ): do you use the source from several programs, or just to compare with your own OS ?
I will only be using code to compare. I want to write it completely from scratch myself, partly for the statisfaction of being able to do it myself, but mostly because I want to learn more about systems programming.

I will be using other peoples code to learn how to do somethings and to see how others have implemented theirs so I have an idea of what to do. I will not be copy & paste anybody's code.

My os is call "Dos Extreme"
Cool. I don't think that our names will conflict as your OS looks like it is going to be some kind of DOS clone??

I haven't actually looked at Lindows and I have never even heard of Lindos I might go and check them out.

:)

@XSream
The name's are not a problem, But my os is not a Dos clone ( It is 32bit pmode up to 4GB memory etc), ITS more what Dos would have been had it continued,My OS is more like the xbox OS (I could not call it "Xbox Extreme" MS would have some thing to say about that ).

MS has won and "Lindows" OS has change its name to "lindos" thats the story going round the net.

Consider checking the 'small kernels with sources' page on the WikiFAQ

Ahh... Glad to hear that, because some people do steal someone's code. ::) (not me ;) )

Hey,

My OS name is going to be 'XStream'.

Something different I guess, Who knows it may change but that is what I am calling it for now.

What's your OS design ?
And XStream might be not bad ;) , it sounds like an internet OS though.
