Face it, Windows is a rip off. It shucks so badly that I can just say the price and it's already "badd".

About flaming, it's the truth. Yah want me to lie?

Once you've written an OS "better" than Windows you can critisize but until then I don't think your qualified to be the "judge, jury, and executioner too."

as for "there is no inpenetrable fortress":

you should educate yourself prior to stating such a thing: There are inpenetrable fortresses which have never been entered in any war since their existence - Burg Hochosterwitz in Carinthia/Austria is an example for such a fortress. Maybe I am in err, but that's as far as i know.

Tux, I can't see any technical details to back up your flaming. This is an OS development board, not Slashdot, so statements like "Windows is made by liars" are unacceptable.

Either back up your wild statements, or stop complaining.

i think i got more bluescreen errors with win 95 than with win 3.11. i never got a blue screen error with 2000 or XP. i think windows xp is the most stable OS around these days. i never liked macs.

1) You don't get a bluescreen in XP cause it doesn't exist.

2) "In the current lawsuit, Sun argues that Microsoft is now trying to supplement--or even replace--its Windows monopoly by encouraging developers to write code for the .Net platform instead of for Java. In addition, Sun says, "Microsoft has refused to port (its popular) Office (software) to competing platforms in order to illegally maintain its monopoly" and to force consumers to purchase products such as Microsoft's Exchange Server, Internet Information Server and SQL Server. "

Open up your eyes kiddies.

3)Check out this site, it has more logs. I don't think you will trust it. You will probably say it's propaganda. You are you and I am I.

4)The program I ran went on for 7 hours and still didn't load. It didn't freeze this time because I got more ram, but the program froze.

5)

I am qualified already punk. Bill Gates didn't even code a bit in DOS. I bet it is the same in Windows. Well he probably had 10 people in the team. He had to do something probably.

Windows wasn't an OS back then anyway. Bill Gates did the same as if I took DOS and made a GUI for it and tweaked some stuff. I'll be happy if that gezzer sat down and finally started coding.

6)Yawn
7)Moo
8)About the lying stuff: READ THE COURT LOGS. They are all over the net. Microsoft's chief programmer (Not BILL GATES) lied to the court on the Windows Explorer seperation program.

Please kill this thread, it's an invitation to flaming not OS development discussion.

How?
Windows wasn't an OS back then anyway. Bill Gates did the same as if I took DOS and made a GUI for it and tweaked some stuff.
But Win95 was 32bit and DOS was 16bit so even if it was executed from DOS it still had to program everything.

And by the way I agree that Microsoft's sales technics are... 'contoversial' but in my oppinion for a general purpose system (gaming, productivity, programming, etc.) it is the most stable and easy to use.

AND for you whiners:

Windows doesn't have a good file structure pertaining to the system files. It dumps logs and dlls, etc. all in one dir. C:\Windows\
It does have folders to break data down, but C:\Winodws is mostly where files get dumped.

I don't think a normal user knows what to remove and what not to.

About the size of the kernel, it is unknown possibly because they might have split kernel functions into smaller kernel dlls.

Media player keeps info on what you listen to. Microsoft is not revealing what they do with them.

About the fortress thingie, THEY HAVE STOOD BECAUSE NO ONE ATTACKED OR THEY ATTACKERS USED PRIMITIVE WEAPONS. You can always blow the walls off an item if you apply enuf TNT. You can kill all the guards with poisoned air. THERE are ways to get in. More historians will side with me then you. Go check out famous fort planners and you'll see.

Tux, if you're such a 'god-almighty OS coder' then why don't you have a product knocking Windows off the top of the market?

To me, you just sound like an angry, angry person....

Can a moderater please lock/delete this thread before Tux makes more of a fool of himself, whilst going off topic and turning this into a 'flaming' thread.

I am gonna stop. I am not gonna make fun of anyone. I have no respect for no one. But I just want to make people aware that an OS is not made by one peson. And that Microsoft is a "little" bit (Happy?) unfair in the OS competition. And read the court case files. I now RIP.
