That part is thrilling. Gooseflesh prickled down my skin when I've been reading it. that scene where the person dies ... it's queer. it gives something to gnaw on later on. Maybe rowling has read some stephen king. this way of letting things happen in quick fashion reminds me of his style - especially in his book "stark".
