I actually paid >250 USD for a Linux class at college, so don't feel bad. Besides, Windows costs more than $150. I think that Dell jacks up the price of each computer by about 200 USD for installing Windows. Personally, I got Windows for free. You get what you pay for.

I had Red Hat on my computer at home setup to dual boot Win98SE, When I got jack of it I removed Red Hat and then had trouble with to grub loader.

Now I'd only use it for a SQL, web or email server, etc. It's just easier to find programs that run on win.

But I'd never use it on an everyday work or games computer.

P.s. It ran fine on Red Hat even though i had dodgy RAM in it, windows constantly has trouble.
