How the kernel is loaded into memory from USB flash?

Question about which tools to use, bugs, the best way to implement a function, etc should go here. Don't forget to see if your question is answered in the wiki first! When in doubt post here.

Nutterts wrote:Mmm, weird. Probably a stupid question but do you happen to have your usb plugged into usb3 port? If so try a usb2 port. Just to rule out a buggy bios maybe try changing the boot sequence in the bios if your using something like F12 to select the usbdrive. But honestly, I don't have a clue.

Another wild guess, try a smaller usbdrive if your using something larger then 4GB.
I'm going to try grub boot again. If it fails, the following OS provides a viable solution.
The Hellox OS make a loadable USB stick by running make_usb_boot program

U disk is equivalent to:
USB flash disk
USB drive
flash drive
usb stick
pen drive
There's no need to create a new name for something that already has many names.
I'm terribly sorry that this has happened. English is not my native language. This word is inaccurate because of the use translation tools.I have modified the text of the error.

I hadn't recognized the term when I came across it either, so I searched on it; apparently, "U-disk" is a fairly common term in several countries, mostly in Asia, I gather, but there was a reference to it being used in some European countries as well.

Lisp programmers tend to seem very odd to outsiders, just like anyone else who has had a religious experience they can't quite explain to others.
