Why i586-elf?

Nope. But I still link to stuff in the Wiki from time to time, and found that the Makefile tutorial needed a link update (since it was still pointing to the old, defunct version of the PDCLib), and while at it, I thought I'd shamelessly advertise my CMake setup package, JAWS.

Then I thought, "why not have a look at the forum for some nostaligia", found this thread, and... well, I thought I should answer the question that very few others actually *could* answer.

Don't fear, I don't plan on returning to OSDev. I'm stepping on people's toes on StackOverflow instead, since I've stopped actively working on OS stuff quite some time ago.
Every good solution is obvious once you've found it.
