Hi guys ,
Learning how to search the web is actually an art . I have spent lots of hours searching without getting anything usefull. I would like to share some places (sites ) of interest .
1 ) wiki of this site
2 ) Chris Geise's page - Thank you for you wonderful work
3 ) Alexi A Frounze page - Excellent work mate , good work!
4 ) Bos - documentation page - Again well done , man!
5 ) Ace Os specification page - Again Thanks man! , Respects
6 ) osdever.net
7 ) Search for Lecture notes for Operating Systems in Google
8 ) ocw.mit.edu - check out the operating system course -really good
9 ) tldp.org -- there is a linux kernel book there ...
10) Operating Systems Research Ring etc - almost always posted by Combuster - in the forumns .
11) visiops -- something like that -- code your own os.
12) The Intel manuals --- Ace os page has the links
13) brokenthorn's and jamesM's tutorials posted earlier.
Also resist the tempatation of reading tutorials all the time . After all you want to create your own operating system right? Read the specs first before reading the tutorials . Do not let anyone take away the fun ,challenge and frusturation of creating your own OS . . Also read other people's source code , try to copy good programming styles and practices .
Regards
Sandeep Mathew
