I can make you a floppy image, if you want... just let me know how you want it organized, and what kind of files on it, and I can post it on my web site, or send it to your email address.

Just make a floppy image with one ("test.txt") that has "12345678" in it.

PS: I still need that floppy image.

Look at the GRUB sources for file I/O with XFS, or the Linux kernel.
As for the floppy image, I'll get it up by the end of the night. I had a little bit of trouble, and actually, in the end, had to create a 5MB HD Image to get the thing to work (hopefully this isn't a problem...?).
Does anybody have acceptable parameters for mkfs.xfs for use with a floppy? It keeps complaining "internal log size 1200 too large, must fit in allocation group", but even when I change the log size, I still get errors.
The 5MB HD compresses to about 8k, if I recall correctly, and I'll put it up on my web site by the end of the day (it's currently stuck in my virtual machine at school, and I can't get it out until I get home and ftp it over to my real system). I'll put it at
http://www.neuraldk.org/hd5MB.gz
The format of the image:
/test.txt -> contains "12345"
/directory -> an empty directory
